Welcome to The-Eyesite.org!
The-Eyesite.org is the official website of the Coventry & District Branch of the British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society, established in 1979 to serve those suffering from RP living in Coventry and Leicester and the surrounding towns and villages.
Our aim is to promote awareness and to raise funds for research into the condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa [RP].
Retinitis Pigmentosa is the name given to a group of inherited eye diseases that affect the retina. Retinitis Pigmentosa causes the degeneration of photoreceptor cells in the retina.
Since their formation, the Coventry & District RP Branch has raised over £170,000.00 for the research that is working towards eradicating RP and developing treatments and/or cures for current RP sufferers.
The-Eyesite.org website is updated regularly with news of current research developments, details of meetings, fund raising events [past and present] and welfare news along with links to other RP related websites.
The Chairperson, Mrs Leigh Kelly, along with the Fundraising/Welfare team, Richard & Jean Bartlam, welcome all who visit this website and, on behalf of their members, offer support and advice to sufferers, their families and friends and a fellowship through meetings and social events so the fear of isolation may be alleviated.
