Pudding Lovers Evening 2005

Friday, 28th January 2005

Forty eight brave souls went home filled up to the brim, after joining in the Pudding Lover's Evening which took place on Friday January 28th at the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel in Leicestershire. After an excellent starter, which you and I call dinner, we were treated to a fanfare of seven puddings, creating a wonderful atmosphere with the audience welcoming the puddings by clapping to the music. This was followed by everyone sampling the puddings, either with custard or without. Most indulged in second helpings and the very brave went for thirds - well done to those brave souls! At the end of the evening, voting slips were filled in to find out the most enjoyed puddings. The organisers then announced the results, with Cumberland Rum coming in first, Fluff Apple second and French Lemon Tart third. We wish to thank the organiser, Roz Stanley, for hosting such a superb evening with special thanks to all the staff for their expertise. Finally, thanks must go to each and every one of you for supporting the raffle on the night which raised £80 for RP research. We hope the waistline did not expand too much!
