Boat Trip 2006
Saturday, 1st July 2006
At 9am we boarded the Lady Godiva at Sutton Stop in Coventry to cruise down the Coventry Canal, turning into the Ashby Canal which would take us to our destination - the Lime Kilns in Hinckley. There we all enjoyed a bar snack and much welcomed drinks in the gardens of the watering hole as, by this time, the weather had reached 31 degrees!
We set sail homeward bound after being fed and watered taking in the beautiful countryside and wildlife for all to see (for those who could not see, a running commentary of the beautiful surroundings we found ourselves in was given).
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and we wish to thank Leigh & Mark for organising such a great event with special thanks to our boatman, Bruce, for looking after us all so well.
