Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Sunday, 18th May 2003

10.30am Sunday May 18th saw 30 of us board a luxury coach, with our destination being The Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The weather was very unpredictable but this did not dampen our spirits as we arrived to enjoy the day we had been looking forward to. The Tropical Gardens with exoctic plants to admire, mynah birds who talked their socks off, sensory gardens with it's own scents for us all to smell...so much to see and experience. Finally the sun came out, and with the sounds of the Birmingham Brass Band ringing in our ears the atmosphere was set with everyone enjoying coffee and ice creams on the terraces. Arriving back at the coach with armfuls of plants to grace their own gardens, everyone agreed that it was a place worth visiting, even on a day when you could not go far without your umbrella. Hope you enjoyed it folks!
