Fun Run 2003
Sunday, 22nd June 2003
Sunday June 22nd saw us for the first time participating in the Coventry Fun Run, which started from the Memorial Park running a 4½-mile route, taking in some of the streets around Coventry, before arriving back at the Memorial Park.
RP was very fortunate to have 3 members taking part: Gary, Natasha and Steve Hopkins. Gary and Steve finished the course in under 40 minutes with Natsha taking a little while longer, but she also went for the fun by wearing her pyjamas and carrying her teddy bear.
Whilst all the fun was going on, mum Donna and other daughter Stacey manned a tom bola stall offering home made cakes and baskets of fruit as prizes. Up to now the sum raised is around £300 but, with sponsor money still to come in, the final total may change.
Well done to you all - you did RP proud!
If you would like to offer a donation to this event it would be very much appreciated as so much effort and time by the Hopkins family went into baking those cakes and making up the fruit baskets in order to raise funds for RP Research.
